Woman and guns

I went to the Fort Worth Gun show yesterday and boy did they have a lot of people there plus the tables were full of all types of guns. I was on a sight seeing tour looking for a small light revolver for the wife and they had a great selection there, I narrowed it down to the Ruger LCR and the S/W 38 special as a spare to go with her Bersa 380. Now I need to check which Gun range has either or both models on their rental list. That way she can try them out to find the revolver she likes.
While I there I noticed that there were more woman sitting down at the gun tables filling out the paper work to purchase a firearm than there were men. Guess the internet was correct when they said more woman have decided to get a gun to protect themselves than ever before.
That is Great news for law biding people and real bad news for the Bad guys....

Think it is more important now than in the past for women to learn to use and carry. The wife has a serious problem racking due to hand problems, She does however keep one of my non carried BT380s, loaded, chambered with safety/decocker off in an old modified leather holster just under the edge of her pillow. Looking at the reviews on the Taurus version of a 5 shot 380 revolver and giving some thought to getting one for her.

Due to new policy, I've quit using Photo Bucket so I'm hoping that the following works.

Hi 9UC, glad to see you found a working WiFi. It sounds like your wife and my wife have something in common, my wife also has a little trouble racking a pistol which is why I am looking for a revolver for her. How many extra rounds do you get with your extended mag in your BT380??
Enjoy the rest of your RV trip.

Finally back at the sticks and bricks and good WiFi. Basically, only two more rounds, but it's not just moving from 7+1 to 9+1, it's always been about the extra length it gives the grip. Ten years ago, the BT380 was my first and only for a long time and despite my liking the gun and the caliber, I nearly dumped it to get something that better fit for my some what broad hands because the 7 round mag left my pinky totally floating. Don't remember where I got the idea to try the 9rd DLX, but it became a gun saver. As I slowly bought more of the 9 round numbers, I finally gave away the 7 round mags, and now keep 2 for SD rounds and 10 for target. In the interim for several years carried the 9UC, but three years ago returned to the 380s for my EDC.
