Since the Remington R51 hit the market I have heard only negative or bad reviews on it. However I have never held or even seen the R51 up close. Not one of the gun nuts ( people ) I know have not had any first hand experience with the R51 9mm.
Has anyone here have any first hand knowledge on the R51??????? At $399.99 for the R51 it sounds like a good deal for a 9mm pistol but not for a metal paper weight.

I saw one at a local sporting goods store and asked to look at it. Neither the sales clerk or I could get the slide back.

I was later told they sent it back to Remington.

I have not seen one since and like you have read all the negative press and have lost interest in one.

About 2 months ago I was talking to a guy who had one and he could only say good things about it, he had no problems with the R51. He even let me shoot a couple rounds. It was easy to aim and had a nice trigger.
I am still planning on getting myself the BT9cc sometime soon.

I fondled one at Academy Sports last week. Interesting firearm. The recoil spring encircles the barrel. Easy to rack the slide. Not sure that I like the grip safety. It is different for sure.
I'd wait a few more months for them to "fine tune" it into it's best version. Then if the gun is still having a few things ya don't like or bad reviews then it's just not the best firearm
Even glock releases a few pistols that suck at first then they modify them to perfection.

Well I still have my heart set on a BT9CC so it would take a lot to change my mind. My Bersa Thunder 380, Bersa Thunder 380CC and Bersa Thunder 22LR have really spoiled me. I have rented other 380's at my local range and none really impressed me.

Only other thing i'd recommend trying is a Walther P99 :)

Perfection? That's their claim anyway.....Just got my latest issue of Guns in the mail yesterday. The R51 is featured on the cover.
