Have really been uncomfortable not being able to carry concealed since I changed my residence from Nevada to Texas in late September. Took both the firing and questionnaire test this morning and got all the paperwork accomplished this afternoon to get a Texas CHL. I have an appointment on the 25th to get my finger prints done. Then the waiting. Didn't do to bad on either test. One wrong answer on the questionnaire and had a high enough score on the shooting portion that I did not have to do the third stage of the firing test. Have no idea how long it will take to get the permit, but I'm assuming several weeks. Recent events overseas convinced me that I needed to get my old carcass in gear and get 'er done.

Congratulations ( hope my spell checker spelled that correct ) 9UC, glad you passed both parts of the test. After they take your finger prints it will not be very long to get your CHL. It has been a long while but mine CHL only took a few days to arrive at my front door. And just like that insurance Ad on TV goes "I broke into my happy dance".
Again Congratulations on passing your CHL.

Thanks, having had a CCW permit for several years now, feel almost naked without a gun on the hip. Still got lots to learn on the where I can and/or can't. That was far simpler in Nevada.

Good news on the results of your tests. Your point is well taken regarding those fanatics in Europe. One or more armed civilians could have possibly made a huge difference in lives saved.
