Went and checked my trail cam this mornin, not one deer on it. When there are deer, it's in the evenings.
I have been in Kentucky for 13 years and have seen the deer population drop. Even the fish cops noticed it. We used to be able to get 4 deer a year, one could be a buck. Now we are down to only 2 a year, one can be a buck, and they want the measurements of the antlers. They are trying to keep tract of the herd's. In the last 5 years I have heard regular rifles being fired during black powder season, I have also heard rifle fire, one or 2 shots after hunting season. Poachers are taking to many deer and ruining the hunting. If something isn't done about the poachers soon, there won't be any deer left around here to hunt. I have a neighbor that feels the same way and will and does turn in anybody he finds that can't follow the rules. I will now follow suite, if for no other reason then to make sure there will be hunting for the younger generation. It looks to me like the poachers are to dumb or don't care about the future generation or future hunting.

Time to get my smoke pole ready for next month.

Mr Hobbles, I sure hope they are not poaching on your land. I am not sure what would turn a real hunter into a Poacher unless it was the need for food to feed their family.

I sure hope the Poachers have left your area.... I don't like people who hunt illegally since they may shoot at 2 legged mammals too.
