From what I read about the Bersa 83 it was the forerunner of the Bersa Thunder 380, in fact they look alike but I have never seen one or know if it shot as great or as reliable as the Bersa Thunder 380. I saw a you tube video - Bersa model 83 - YouTube
however all the guy talked about was some things that was wrong with it that looked like normal ware and tear of shooting. Sounded like he never fired it so he was not able to say how it handled or fired.

Welcome to Bersa Pistol Forum and glad to have you on board.
I have owned (new) since 1985/86. Have over 500 cycles through it w/o a hiccup. Now belongs to wife, hence MAMASGUN.
Thanks for the response Tony1990.

I love it when the lady of the house also has a gun. The wife and I enjoy going to the range for target practice together.

Is this the Bersa model 83 you have, sure looks like a regular BT380

The m83 has a steel frame. The BT-380 has an alloy frame. That's the only difference that I know of. There may internal changes, but I have never heard what they might be.
I've heard that the 83, 84 and 85 series parts are hard to come by. Anyone know that to be true?
