Hi Robhic, I am stocked up with ammo ( enough to keep and for target practice ) however Cabela's has a sale on their PPU 380 94gr FMJ for $15.99/box 50 plus their PPU 380 94gr JHP for $17.99/box 50. Can not pass up the chance to get 10 boxes of target ammo at that price. I have enough JHP ammo.

Same here on the 380 target and carry rounds. I'm doing some window shopping on the 9mm JHP rounds. I went through 300+ rounds sharpening up my target skills for the CCW permit class I went through Wednesday. Even though a little more expensive, I'm giving consideration to replacing the 115gr FMJ I've used lately and replacing it and all future replacements with 124 gr.

Hi 9UC, Are you planning on switching from 115gr FMJ to 124gr JHP ammo for target practice??? If it is for practice only Remington UMC sells their 9mm 124Gr FMJ for $17.99 / box of 50. Plus their box / 100 is a little cheaper. Remington UMC ammo is a little dirtier than others but I never have any problems with them however I only use Hornady SD ammo in all my carry guns.

Thanks for the feedback. Even though I've run a variety of 124 gr brands through my 9UC, I don't think I've used Remington in the 124 I would not really be too concerned about it being dirty as I give whatever I fire a thorough cleaning following practice regardless of how few or many rounds I run through it.

Decided to get off the duff yesterday afternoon and ordered the replacement of the 9mm I used getting ready for and doing my CHL quals plus a little extra to complete the fill of a vacant ammo can. I use the the surplus 7.62 ammo cans for both long and short term storage of all my ammo. I decided to replace the 115 grain I have been using for target and occasional plinking with 124 gr. Some would think ordering ammo on Thanksgiving is not appropriate, but I think of it as one of the great blessing I have and I am thankful for it.

The best value for SD .380 ammo is Fiocchi shooting dynamics line. These use Hornady XTP's same as the Extema line. except you get 50 rounds instead of 25 for $22.
Velocity seems to be about the same so the only real difference is. You dont get the fancy cases.
I buy these for my 380's and my 9's.
Just have to look for the shooting dynamics line and find the ones with the Hornady XTP's
Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics .380 Auto 90 Grain JHP 50 rounds - 105192, .380 ACP Ammo at Sportsman's Guide

I use the same approach for my hunting rounds. They have a line of 308 hunting rounds that use the Hornady 160gr hunting bullet that sells for $17 instead of $24 for comparable brands.

Ohhh, Have to give props out to Robhic. That Freedom link panned out. They have remans with the Hornady XTP's for $15.10 for 50. Thats the best price.

Have done and received another order of 124gr since my Nov 27the post. At least, for the time being, I am up to my stock level on both of my primary calibers.
