This is just information for anyone else who may be looking for a magazine extension for a Thunder 380 CC model. And this is not an advertisement for a specific company; just the one I found for my 380 CC.

I have large hands but wanted a small firearm for concealed carry once we move to a state where I can obtain a permit to carry. I went with the Bersa Thunder 380 CC and could not be happier, with one exception. The grip was too short and my pinky sat underneath the magazine. I looked all over and finally found one that I was advised would work. I contacted the manufacturer and they indicated it would not. I took the chance anyway and, with the assistance of the seller on eBay, tried it. I put 100 rounds through with no glitches. Fits like a glove and gives me the comfort of having three fingers on the grip/mag extension.

The extension is from Mec Gar. Item number MGBT3808B. This is the matte magazine. It also comes in nickel plate. **This does not increase magazine capacity.** All the listings with the exception of the seller I purchased from indicate it does not fit the 380 CC model, but rather, only the std model. Other sellers have magazine extensions from other manufacturers for the std model and indicate they do not fit the CC model. As I indicated, the Mec Gar one is just the one the seller had.

Hopefully this helps anyone else having the dilemma I had. Happy Shooting. Always be safe.

Hello folks! I'm new here, having just signed up after seeing this thread. I bought a 380cc for the wife last Christmas and she loves it. I like it too, but wanted an extension for the short handle also. I contacted Bersa directly in regards to fitment of the Thunder 380 9-round extended capacity magazine with a Thunder 380cc (THUN380DLXBMAG). They confirmed that it does actually fit and function correctly with the exception of the bottom piece extending beyond the rear of the 380cc grip. So, I bought one and confirmed that it does function perfectly. I decided to slide the little cover plate off the top of the bottom piece and saw that the area that extends beyond the back of the grip is a hollow cavity behind another cavity that contains the follower and spring. With it inserted in the grip, I made marks on the bottom piece at the point where it was flush to the back of the grip. I then removed it and took the little cover plate off and proceeded to use an exacto knife to cut off the excess area off the bottom piece following the curve of the grip. I inserted it again and confirmed the alignment of my cutting, then slide the little cover plate back on and made a mark on it to match the new shortened bottom piece. I pulled it back out and cut it, then slid it back in place to confirm fitment. With magazine out and the shortened cover plate in place, I filled the remaining small open cavity left exposed by my modification with 10-minute epoxy and after it fully hardened, I filed it down to match the shape and contour of the bottom piece when inserted in the grip. The very last step was to 'stain' the gray colored epoxy with a black Sharpie permanent marker and it looks like it was made specifically for the 380cc and functions perfectly! Sorry, I didn't take photos as I performed the modification, but hopefully my detailed explanation along with the photos of the final product will help those who'd like to tackle this project.

First and foremost, I'll extend another welcome from from the great state of Texas. We are a smallk but friendly group. Seen a lot of 'cussin & discussion on the CC model and the desire for an extended mag over the years, and will give ya' credit, that modification looks good. I've always preferred the BT over the CC due to the DLX mag.

9UC and Tony1990: Thanks for the warm Texas-sized welcome. Glad y'all liked the mod on the mag. Wish I would've taken photos of the job in progress, but to be honest, I just did it on a whim one evening while watching some TV. Hope folks can do the same with my 'windy' instructions!

BTW 9UC, I'm also retired USAF. Feb 83 - Feb 05.

Moderators: Do you think I should re-post this as a new thread to ensure wider distribution?
Howdy G-Sarge, If you want please re post it in the "Bersa Gunsmithing Forum". This would be one of the first places a new member or someone just passing thru would look for a solution to a problem they may have. Hopefully if they find what they were looking for they will become members.

I know this is a really old post, but I just recently picked up a new Bersa Thunder 380 CC and have a few questions. I began looking for magazine's and just picked up two OEM 8 rounders, but can't help wanting a pinky extension on one of them :) Did you lose a round of capacity with this magazine? If so, has anyone had luck finding an 8+1 extension that fits the CC model?
