Hello. I just picked up an older (but reallly clean) Mini 45 duo tone. I took it to the range and discovered it has an issue. Randomly it will automatically go into de-cock after it is fired. Also, if you manually rack the slide and let it "slingshot" forward, it will cause the hammer to de-cock itself. Any one have any ideas? Thanks.

Sorry I can not help out with your problem but I have never even seen a Firestorm Mini 45 or heard of one until I logged on the Bersa Site and viewed the part manual on the Firestorm Mini 45. Its a good looking 45 and it is too bad you are having a problem with it. Have you dissembled it like you would do when you clean it to check if there is something does not look right.

Welcome aboard.
Sorry to hear about it's problem. I would just take it to a gunsmith. It just sounds like a minor tweek is needed. Maybe a spring is weak. Does it do this when you use the slide release or just when you slingshot? I would be afraid of a slamfire although I believe this design would not allow it. But then again, I'm no smitty.
For peace of mind, I always take a used firearm to a smith prior to shooting it. I consider that as part of it's price at purchase. I O.K. the first $50 and ask him to call if going over that. I have only ever bought one firearm new.
Good Luck. Keep us posted.

I would send it in to one of the warrenty centers . They normally don't worry if you the orginal owner or not . Co Gun works in IN. is a good one. Go to Eagle imports for address of the warrenty centers .
You got to pay shipping but they pay return. If you have a good dealer he can use the USPS and send for less than 20 bucks. You have to use UPS or Fed X THEY not govt require over night service.

Yup, that's a good plan

I dropped it off at my local Gander Mountain 2 weeks ago. Talked to the gunsmith last week and he said Bersa is sending him a new hammer and spring. he said it takes a couple weeks because the parts come from the factory. Now if some one would sell me a couple extra mags, I might be good to go.

Gander Mountain 2 weeks ago. You might be waiting a long time. I suggested you sent it to one of the warrenty centers . I think Gander was dropped couple years ago for poor service.

The Warrenty centers have most of the common pats on hand or can get quicker than Gander. I do hope your pistol is finished soon
