Cleaning Firestorm

I heard that the spring on the Firestorm must be reinserted/reinstalled a certain way? That one end of the spring has a higher preload than the other end? Is this a rumor or true statement? I just got my Firestorm and double checking my info on it.

The smaller end of the spring goes on towards the rear of the gun, and they say to have the front end of the spring end piece at 12:00
