Hi I recently bought a new bersa 380 thunder plus and it has has failed to load the last round of the magazine on every loading plus 4 or 5 additional FTF's midstream in the mag probably at least 10-12 FTF in the first 75 rounds I'm using aguila 95gr fmj ammo I'm on my 1st 2 boxes but this seems excessive has anybody else experienced this with a brand new pistol ? Everything looks ok nothing obvious to me I'm gonna try a different brand of ammo and maybe try and find another magazine before I send it back any thoughts?

Welcome to Bersa Pistol Forum, glad to have you with us.
I have never used Aguila Ammo so I have no experience on how it works on a Bersa 380 plus but my Bersa 380 and 380cc will fire everything I feed them. You said you purchased the Bersa 380 Plus new so the big question is did you clean and lubricated the Bersa 380 Plus and the magazines before you used them. And I do mean a good cleaning not a light cleaning like after you shoot a few rounds. Do take the spring out of your mag, clean and lubricate it then load the mag full and leave the mag full until the next time you go to the range. I always clean my guns before using them even the non Bersas I have and had good luck. Good luck and happy target practice.

I had a similar problem a while back with my B380. It would shoot 5 rounds and then the 6th round in a 7 round mag would stick atop the 7th round and they would jam between the slide and breech face. Drove me NUTS! So I tried this to fix it and it seems to have worked: http://www.bersapistolforum.com/forum/bersa-talk/304-magazine-problem-fixed-i-m-pretty-sure.html My theory, by way of explanation was that possibly the spring (all mags were new) was a bit too 'springy' and the last 2 rounds didn't present enough weight and overloaded the spring, thereby causing them to pop up and jam horizontally. That thread gives the results of what I did and how it seems to have fixed the problem. Good luck!

On other guns have had other people say to load magazines up when not using and that usually helps springs settle in. I keep mine fully loaded always and have never fired Aguilla but my Bersa will shoot everything including reloads I have fed it. Good luck on resolving problem.
