Bersa Thunder 380 CC for wife

Hello, I am looking to purchase a Thunder 380 CC as a first gun for the wife. She handled one a LGS and really liked how it felt in her small hands. My wife has small hands and a little arthritis , so needs a pistol easy to rack and low recoil. She could not get a good grip on the handle of my Taurus PT111 G2 9mm. Cannot find one at local range to rent and try out. Is there any ladies here or guys wives that are shooting the Thunder 380 CC? How is recoil? Is it a good first gun for the ladies? Thanks

Welcome on board TWF58 Glad to have you on board.
The Bersa 380cc is a great little gun for carrying and easy to shoot however it is not very easy to rack. I put some non slip tape on the slide and it is even hard for me to rack. My wife likes to shoot it and the recoil is not an issue for her. However since it hard to rack it is now my Bersa 380cc. If there are any reduced pressure springs available for the Bersa 380cc it solve the racking problem. It shoots great, hits what I aim for with no jamming on any of the ammo I use. Best of luck on the springs.
By the way there are several way to rack a pistol, I hold my gun in my right hand and my left hand the top of the slide (keep fingers away from eject port). pushing my right hand to the left and my left hand to the right together makes it easier to rack for me.
Hopes this helps. And if you find a reduced spring for the Bersa 380cc please let me know. I looked several years ago but no luck. Will give the wife the Bersa 380cc and get me a Bersa BP9cc.

Can't help on the CC as I only have the BTs in the 380, but will extend a welcome from the south eastern coastal plains of Texas.
