Hello all,

I am looking at a Bersa Thunder 22 and I have a question about it. What kind of material is used for the frame and slide? I have seen many different versions and even the Bersa web site is vague. The part that concerns me, perhaps needlessly, is that the frame and/or slide are made of some kind of alloy, and usually people say some sort of zinc alloy. I am no metallurgist or engineer so when I hear zinc alloy I think of pot metal. Is this true? If so, how durable are these pistols? Are there reports of cracking or any other types of failures?

BTW if I buy one of these pistols it will be a range gun and possibly a carry gun.

Thanks in advance

hello, I have three bersas .22 one of them 4 "spout all use the same charger the frame is made of aluminum alloy and the tempered steel slide, both get along very well and I do not know cases of frame breakage.
two of them I bought used and they work better than the new one, always with high speed amo, in my case it was very good remington golden bullet
