Still looking for ammo? Just got a sale ad from Freedom Munitions for 380 100gr ammo if you're interested: Deal of the Day
Howdy Robhic, Yes and No on the ammo. A friend of mine just got a SW Shield 9 and traded in his Bersa 380 for it. I will be seeing him this coming weekend since he has a bunch of 380 ammo both FMJ and JHP and I can pick them up for a very very good price.
However I am always in the market for good ammo on sale. The more ammo I have the more I can go to the range for practice. They said a Pistol with out any ammo is nothing but a paper weight, I believe a Pistol and a lot of ammo that is gathering dust is a shame. I enjoy shooting so my turnover of ammo is high.
Thanks for the ammo info, I will check it out within the hour.

Again thanks Robhic on the update.

Don't know for sure but quantity may have been the problem. Freedom seems to be setup more for quantity. When I order I usually order a minimum of 250 rounds of whatever caliber I'm buying. It generally comes in a week or thereabouts. I know 2 boxes would seemingly be easier to ship but maybe their shipping is setup or volume and smaller orders go slower? How'd you like the ammo after you tried it? I've used quite a bit in about 4 calibers and have never had but just 1 FTFire (38 spl) in thousands of rounds. I find their quality to be excellent. I even saw in another forum a guy said he found the 9mm to be "snappier" than some name brand ammos he'd used.

I only ordered two boxes so i could try it out, some of the reviews i read before buying some were about 60/40 to the good.
I shot both boxes of mine with no problems, but Bersa's are not usually to picky about the brand of ammo.

I'm surprised because I've never read a bad word or review regarding Freedom Munitions. I've used 380, 38spl, 9mm and 45acp all without incident except the one 38 that failed to fire. Out of a total of probably 5000 rounds of all, I can't complain.

Not a bad deal! I've been getting their promos about different ammo deals and it seems like they're doing a lot of $5 flat-rate shipping. Looks like they might be standardizing a $5 ship-rate as it makes a difference (does to me) to drive business.

Whereyat Robic! Indeed not bad, 'specially when the win was free. Can't remember what shipping was for the freebie but certainly not enuf for me to decline the win.

I entered all of the free ones they send but that was the only one I had any luck with. Most of of the interesting "charged" items they offer can be had from other sources for lower cost, but I have made several purchases from them over time with no problems.

Robhic, a while ago you put me on to " SGAmmo.com | Family Owned and Operated Ammo Sales, Stillwater OK " and I ordered a couple of box's Remington HP 380 ammo 100/box. I received my ammo in 4 days. Unfortunately it is not back in stock yet however when it is i will order some more.

G'mornin Mr. Tony! Are you talking about the 100 rd box - 380 auto remington UMC 88 grain JHP Hollow Point Value Pack @ 40-cents each that SG shows being out of stock right now? I'm curious about how it worked out in your 380. I've not sent UMC downrange in anything other than a D.I. AR but it produced so much residue in the barrel, gas tube, bolt and receiver of that platform that I never went back to it.

Yes it is the one I ordered from SG Ammo and it does leaves more of a residue in my BT380 than I would like. However I usually fire about 200 rnds during each of my range visits and most of the ammo I use leave some kind of residue which is why I clean my guns and mags completely after each range visit. I believe the PMC Bronze 380 FMJ and Winchester 380 FMJ flat nose white box has the least amount of soot in my guns. When I carry I always use Hornady Critical Defense Ammo and only use the Remington HP for my range visits since I want to stick with HPs for now. I can not afford .79/rnd just to practice with when I fire about 200 rounds during a range visit. Plus I have not had a single problem with Remington HP so far. However I am always looking for the best Ammo to practice with.

FWIW, I didn't shoot as much of that UMC 88 gr ammo as Tony, but I initially shot off about 100 rds give or take. I can't say that I felt it dirtied up my barrel more than any/most of the other ammos I've run thru my Thunder 380. I DID have some Russian-made steel-case stuff I bought when ammo was about as plentiful as unicorn milk :)o) that was SO dirty - how dirty was it? - that it not only came in a box labeled entirely in Russian but it was wrapped in waxed paper and the ammo not only left carbon aplenty in my gun but left black residue ON MY HANDS FROM HANDLING THE AMMO ITSELF!!! Yeah, it was dirty. That was the worst but the UMC wasn't problematic IMO. In fact, I still have another box.

While at Walmart Wednesday I checked out their ammo and usually they have a little of most ammo but no 380 ammo of any kind. However today they had 2 boxes of Remington HP 380 ammo 100/box, I really did not need any ammo since I have not been to the range lately but at $31.00 per box/100 I could not let it go. I got both boxes. Must be my lucky week so I will get me some Lotto tickets today.

I hate to sound like a shill for Ammunition Online at Factory Direct Prices | Freedom Munitions | Handgun Ammo & Rifle Ammo but they've been bombarding me with ads for different caliber ammo and free shipping and all kinds of stuff lately! Looks like they're doing a big sales push and .380 has been on the sales more than a few times. It IS "re-manufactured" ammo. But very good ammo, IMO. Always been quality and I use it a LOT for range/practice. They also make new ammo which is also quite good. So if you're looking for inexpensive, quality ammo (any caliber) it might be a good idea to check their site from time to time and see what they're trying to move.

...and Freedom's new is not much more costly than reman'd most of the time.
