Well, I did my HR218 Retired Law Enforcement annual qualification today with the CZ 83 (2015 production, maybe 200 rounds through it) and my Glock 19 I have carried since 1994 when I was on the SO. Up to this point, other than an occasional second to last round failing to feed on a couple of the milsurp mags, The CZ83 has been reliable as clock work. I shoot Hornady critical Defense and Buffalo Bore +P ammo for carry in both my CZ83 and Bersa FieStorm.
I usually use Fiocchi or S&B .380 ammo for practice, and it works fine. Today, I grabbed a box of Aguila .380 that I got cheap. During qualification, I had 2 to 3 FTF every magazine! They were as if it was short stroking, and not kicking the slide back all the way. I know Aguila is underpowered in their .223 and 30 carbine loads, so I am guessing this is the problem with the 380s, too. The kick seemed "soft" and inconsistent.
Anyone else have issues with Aguila? My Bersa eats it fine, but is has a softer recoil spring than the CZ.
