My Bersa Thunder 380 is so old that it only has a 1 dot sight and that is the front sight. I can not use that paint that glows since there not place to paint it. The rear sight is flat, no dots to paint just flat metal. Anyone ever try to replace the rears sights themselves or should I have it done by a gunsmith.

I just ordered my rear sight from Bersa for my Bersa 380 and it cost me all of $3.50. $1.00 for rear site, $1.00 for new screw and $1.00 for new spring. Plus $5.00 for shipping. Hope I can install it correctly.

You bet, the last thing I want to see when I am firing my weapon is to see my rear sights fall on the floor. Almost as bad as your magazine popping out while firing.

I paint my front sight orange . Over last year I have been like some others trying to move from the 3 dot sight . On fast SD shooting you should focus on front sight. Trying to line up 3 dots takes time. So I have been blacking out my rear. I got this idea from a ED Brown Sheriff Wilson special he made . I handled one and like it. It only has front night site . I taped over my rear night sight on my Dan Wesson and found I seem faster

Other are trying around the net many like some don't

Are you talking about point and shoot? I have been trying it for a while now and I can hit the target but I can not get any type of grouping. That is why I ordered the rear sights with dots on them. Maybe I better check the internet and see if there are any videos that can help me.

Point shooting has place up close . SeeCamp quotes a study where majority of NYPD officers don't remember seeing their sights. He doesn't put sights on his pocket pistols. Since most SD is at 10' or less I really don't see you standing tall and facing square in best Weaver or what ever stance engaging the bad guy . May be drawing arm extended shooting as you try to move to some type of cover. You don't want to stand in one spot .Going toe to toe with a BG exchanging shots . Good way to die. A pistol not a death ray . Unless you hit spine or brain They might no be going down Even a heart shot isn't 100% instant stop

Got my new 3 dot rear sight in and I really lucked out since no adjustment was required. Shot very well on the first test firing.
