What should I be looking for? Any eccentricities? Any ammo it i doesn't like? It seems like a super solid gun to me. Testing it out next week.

Welcome to the forum

Presently I don't own a 9, but I do have thunder's in .380 and .45 and they will eat anything that you feed them. Be sure to strip that new pistol down, clean it real good and lube it before you take it to the range. That oily crud on there is some type of rust preventer not gun oil and it will gum everything up if not washed out....

Thanks,
I will take it down this weekend and clean and oil it.

I have a 9UC Pro and love it. Nothing that I can think of that you should watch out for, it may like some ammo more than other, but mine's eaten everything I've fed it.

Keep it clean and it will serve you for many moons.

Had to replace the extractor on my new (12/24/12) Thunder 9mm Pro. I ordered the part (extractor), springs, there are two and just for the heck of it a new pin...total cost $11 plus shipping. Bersa is on it, I got the parts in two days. The gun hasn't had a FTE in 200 rounds.... Out of the box it was happening every third or forth round. The bottom half of the extractor claw was totally gone. This gun should never have left the factory.

Reason I did not take it back to the Dealer for warranty (I would have had to do the shipping anyway) is it is so accurate I didn't want to wait for however long it takes these so called smiths to fix a 10 minute job, I know I screwed the warranty, But they are not difficult to repair. Parts are readily available...maybe they are expecting a rush on repairs.

Still, I really like the feel and the balance as well as the accuracy of this pistol and I've got very little money in it.. If it fails again it would make a very pretty paper weight.

Just stick to brass, round-nose FMJ for range practice, - that is, no steel-case Ruski loads. Fire JHP's for testing too, some expand properly, some don't. Just so you don't pay xtra for JHP's that behave like a non-expanding round-nose.

My TP9UCpro is a tank, love it. Might have to refinish slide tho, mine's all black and after only 3 months 2 trips to range, is fading too fast. Having same finish-issue with my 380-Plus
